Meet Katie + Dan

  • Co-Founder and Principal

    Katie Kinder DeBauche was born and raised in San Antonio and has built a career out of growing and empowering civic institutions including the San Antonio Symphony, San Antonio Food Bank, San Antonio Public Library Foundation and the Witte Museum. Before her work in non-profits, Katie worked on political campaigns in San Antonio and Texas.

    Katie is committed to her community. In 2015, City Council appointed Katie to the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women. In 2024, Katie was recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as the 2024 40 Under 40 Woman of the Year.

    Katie is a fifth-generation Texas Longhorn. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. with honors in Latin American Studies and as a member of the national honors fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa.


  • Co-Founder and Principal

    Dan DeBauche has over 20 years of leading successful national, state and local political campaigns, plus developing and implementing successful political and policy-making strategies for a wide range of clients at every level of government.

    Dan brings decades of experience in building long-standing relationships with elected officials and candidates, advocacy groups, and stakeholders; deploying innovative outcome-focused approaches unique to specific projects and campaigns; and winning campaigns by creating a strong ground game based on voting behavior and mathematical modeling.

    Dan is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with BAs in Political Science and Anthropology. He was born in Green Bay, WI and has never missed a Green Bay Packers game.

  • Grant Writing Strategist

    Colleen has been working in the nonprofit sector for over a decade. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University and Master’s Degree in Biology from Miami University.

    Colleen has dedicated time to programming and development across positions at the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld San Antonio, the Witte Museum, and currently, SA Youth. Colleen enjoys helping agencies maximize their impact through strategic fundraising, and is proud to assist Kinder & DeBauche clients with their grant-writing needs.

    McKenna Kinder is a marketing and social media strategist with a foundation in photography and a focus on content creation, brand storytelling, and audience engagement. She partners with clients to craft thoughtful, results-driven strategies that elevate brand visibility and foster genuine connection across digital platforms. With experience leading campaigns across a range of industries—including media, publishing, and hospitality—McKenna brings a creative, strategic, and consistent approach to helping brands communicate their voice and stand out in a crowded digital landscape.

  • Grant Writing Strategist

    Since earning her B.A. in Communications and English from Trinity University, Caroline Wolff has maintained a steadfast commitment to uplifting others through the power of the written word. Her first career in local journalism, along with her advocacy work for disability rights, led her into the heart of San Antonio’s non-profit sector. As an Alamo City native, Caroline approaches each grant proposal with a reverence for the civic organizations that make her hometown what it is — vibrant, diverse, resilient, and deeply human.

    Caroline is also an internationally published and award-winning poet and fiction writer. She currently serves on the editorial boards of multiple literary journals, working closely with fellow creative writers to prepare their work for publication. 

    In her moments away from the keyboard, Caroline enjoys fitness, reading, crafting, and cuddling with her rescue cat, Hayes.

    Katie Adams Pearcy is a nonprofit professional with seven years of grant writing experience for large organizations and over ten years of experience in nonprofit fundraising with experience in large scale events and donor stewardship.

    Katie has worked at many organizations that provide critical community services including the Witte Museum, Canine Companions, and Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support. 

    Katie combines a passion for community impact with a talent for securing funding that organizations need to move mountains for their community.

    Katie is a 5th generation Texan and proud University of Texas at Austin graduate. Balancing professional expertise with a love for family and community, Katie is dedicated to making a positive difference both at work and home. Katie lives in Dallas with her husband and young daughter. In her free time, Katie likes to cook, shop for antiques, and read a good book.

    Graduating from Trinity University with a B.A. in Political Science and English, Kate Schulle sits at the intersection of advocacy and storytelling. With experience in political campaigns and non-profits, Kate has continued to use written communication as an avenue for change. Her robust understanding of development strategy and community needs brings creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for mission-driven work to every project.

    In addition to her professional experience, Kate is a published scholar researching modern representations of Holocaust memory in K12 school systems. She presented her research at major academic conferences, including Johns Hopkins University's Macksey Symposium and the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

    Kate enjoys reading, golfing, exploring the outdoors, and enjoying a nice cup of coffee in her free time.
